I have been blessed to serve in a variety of ways throughout my career, all centered around community safety in Johnson County.

I began my journey as an animal control officer for the City of Buffalo. Some of my first calls were very different from how we respond today. Even through difficult and very dangerous situations, I have been blessed and fortunate. Those experiences taught me that when you learn from hard moments, you work to create better conditions for those who follow after you. That mindset is essential for the times we live in today.
As a Buffalo Police Officer, I learned the value of community. I saw firsthand how people outside of law enforcement are willing to step in, lend a hand, provide critical information, and alert us to serious situations before we even arrive.
Early in my career, the night shift officer often worked alone for long stretches. That reality reinforced how important it is to have a community that looks out for one another.
Serving as a Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy under the leadership of Sheriff Steve Kozisek, I gained valuable experience in how to conduct myself and respond appropriately in difficult and high-stress situations.
Over more than 15 years of shift work in law enforcement, I developed the experience, perspective, and judgment that shaped the officer I became.
Those experiences continue to guide me today and have prepared me to lead and serve our community safely.
With integrity.
